You Pay WHAT!

You Pay WHAT!

GIVEAWAY! I will pick a winner June 17th for a FREE hoodie off my website and all you have to do is answer one of the questions at the bottom in the comments. Good luck!

Ok, here's the deal, I like TV. For the most part, I'm a homebody and I love to just be able to sit and chill after the kids go to bed or on Sunday afternoons. Bonus if there's wine. Duh.

A few years ago, I got the bill for our satellite tv service and when I was writing the check for it I realized that I couldn't remember the last time we actually watched it. Mind you, the bill was over $100 maybe closer to $150 and it was right about then that I decided to dump satellite.  At the time we had Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. I then ordered a digital antenna from Amazon like this. With the antenna, we get about 17 channels on a good day for "local" tv (ABC, CBS, PBS, PBS kids, NBC etc.) The best ones for us are Ion (crime type shows Blue Bloods, etc all the time and PBS kids, which is tits if the internet is out because my kids love the shows on there.)

Fast forward to now and this what we pay for and use:

Netflix $19 a month (we have the biggest plan for them, because we have it on a TV at the ranch, plus our house and the iPad to download for traveling. The most basic plan with them is around $7 a month.)

Disney+, ESPN and Hulu... are INCLUDED if you have a Verizon Unlimited plan. Ya, I just said that. You log in to your Verizon account, click Services & Perks and under Apps and Add-ons you just follow the prompts and that's all. Boom! Worth $13.99 I think.

We live in the ghetto...just kidding, kinda. So I pay for Amazon Prime which means we get their streaming service on the TV's in our house and iPad. I don't really count this as paying for any kind of streaming device because I use it primarily for shipping 7 million things to our house, but we do watch tv on here a lot.

Lastly, we just recently added AppleTV to the mix and it is so good! $6.99 a month. WORTH IT!

Ok, so we pay about $27 a month for TV. Less than $30...we have the streaming services on both house TV's, a ranch TV, and my iPad and the local tv channels on our main TV in the living room.  What I want to know is...How much do you pay for TV a month orrrrr what are you watching right now?

We have a similar set up as you! All the options through our Verizon plan + Amazon Prime!

We only have Netflix and pay around $16 a month for it. We don’t have much for options around here for local TV so we just go without since we don’t watch it much anyways.

We are a streaming household lol. We pay for prime for the shipping lol so we use it for TV too. Pay for discovery+ at 4.99 because I’m cheap and a few commercials never hurt you. Plus let’s face it kids today will not know the struggle of running to pee, get a snack and make it back to the couch before the show is back. Lol. We get Netflix thru T-Mobile so yay!

I pay about 15.49 for our Netflix plan. I do Amazon prime also. I think about branching out and adding things from time to time because I also love TV but for now, this works for us. I’m currently watching Grace & Frankie.

We also just use an antenna for a few local channels! We currently just pay the $16.55 for Netflix! (Monthly) but we do have an Amazon prime membership ($139/ year so that comes out to $11.58 a month which is for prime shipping, but also you unlock Amazon prime video which we love!) but like you said, I don’t really count that for “TV cost” since I buy a lot on there and mainly use it for quick shipping of essentials! Some shows I am currently loving:
Hulu: How I met Your Father (hilarious!)
Not Dead Yet. (short episodes & light & funny)
The Company You Keep (new this year, only 1 season, but so good)
The good Doctor (highly recommend since you like Grey’s Anatomy and Private practice!!)
